Electronic Arts has kept its promise
EA intended to bring on Steam the vast majority of titles we find on EA Origin. However, this is not the time to be fooled: even if we buy the title on Steam we will not have achievements and it will be necessary to have an EA Origin account, from where the game will really start.
At first glance, I would say that this decision is more beneficial for EA because all those who did not have an EA Origin account and will want to play a title, will need one. It would not be surprising if EA announced that the number of accounts on Origin has increased happily in a few months.
Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order has been available since its launch on Steam, and now, in addition to this, titles such as Crysis 3, Mass Effect 3 or Dead Space 3 have been added to the portfolio.
I chose these as the first example because the first 2 games in each series were found on Steam, but “the epic conclusion” was missing in each case.
The Need for Speed series is also available, as is the Sims. Titanfall 2, Fifa 2021, Battlefield and others are present for all those who want to have the complete collection on Steam.
