Google Photos will no longer be free
One piece of news that appeared last week, but we didn’t manage to mention it, is that Google Photos will no longer be free starting with 2021.
Specifically, starting with June 1, 2021, you will no longer be able to upload photos to “High quality” for free. Any photo uploaded to the Google cloud from that date will take you from the free storage space offered, which is 15 GB.
Existing Google Pixel users will still be able to upload photos for free, but only to “High quality”, not “Original quality”. At the same time, the new Google Pixels that follow will no longer have free access.
Google will send notifications when you approach the upper limit of 15 GB and will include additional tools to be able to clean the pictures, so as not to waste space with blurry or meaningless pictures.
