Huawei tried to compromise the Linux kernel with a patch

After scandals that seem to never end, Huawei does not seem to understand what is happening. On Sunday they tried to compromise the Linux kernel with a patch. They were stopped at the limit.

The patch itself only had to implement the Huawei Kernel Self Protection function specific to Huawei devices in the Linux kernel. It’s just that after a few checks it was found that this patch was malicious.

It had a vulnerability that could easily be exploited, sources said. Moreover, the vulnerability seemed to be made by an amateur.

Huawei also acknowledged the problem and that the culprit is usually an employee. Culmea, a top cybersecurity engineer. Did he make such a mistake? Hard to believe.

It is not new for us, because we have seen many news and cases in which Huawei tried to steal personal data using such vulnerabilities, and when they were caught they blamed the employees.
