ASUS Zenfone 6 Review – a fair flagship I would buy anytime
ASUS Zenfone 6 was launched last year and we are already preparing to see the next model. So I will not insist very much on the details but I want to relate my experience with this phone.
I have it for several months, I use it as a secondary phone and as an alternative to iOS from time to time. I like to play with two ecosystems even though Android is still not 100% to my liking. However, Zenfone 6 manages to deliver a great experience.
I consider it an underrated phone because no one recommends it when someone is looking for a new phone or it is too little recommended.
I recommend it for many reasons and the main reason is the price. I think that for this money you get a phone more powerful and “more serious” compared to Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo or other lesser known brands in China.
I like the design very much and the way they integrated the flip camera. You have a full screen without borders and easy to hold in your hand.
It looks great and feels like a premium phone. The back is made of glass, the frame is made of steel and we also find the jack jack.
The screen is visible from note 10 because it covers 100% the DCI-P3 spectrum and has HDR10.
It looks good and I bet the differences between this screen and the iPhone 11 are very small. By the way, it’s the IPS screen not the OLED.
The phone is built premium on all sides, but the only less pleasant aspect I will present to you in the weak points section.
Until then, the phone looks very good in the design area.
Another interesting aspect is the selfie camera, actually the same main camera. The fact that you can take selfies of the same quality is a big advantage. The pictures are very successful.
The battery is 5000mAh and under the conditions in which I used it I got 3-4 days autonomy.
I did not abuse him because the main phone remained the iPhone, but it is appreciated that it lasted almost a week, and in normal use it will keep you for 2 days.
It loads very fast, usually I leave it to load until I prepare my meal and find it loaded to a decent capacity like 80%.
The simple and clean interface made this Zenfone 6 a pleasure to use. It reminded me of Pixel that moves very well, much better than Samsung or Huawei. Same with this phone.
Another thing I liked is the hard plastic case cover that protects the back.
I liked the camera very much and although I could not take many pictures lately I will leave you 2-3. It is a very good camera that offers you everything you need: zoom, ultra wide, stabilization, natural colors, fast focus, absolutely nothing to comment on.
I didn’t like the hinge from the camera. It has a small game and sometimes when you hold the phone in your hand it moves and you hear that. It does not affect the functionality at all, but I am afraid that in time it will not weaken.
Another minus would be the fingerprint sensor located on the back and not on the screen. I know, I am carcotas, the sensor works very well, it is fast, but I had to say something bad.
The phone is honest, it gives you the performance you are looking for from a flagship and including quality in assembly.
The software is fine tuned, the price is good and I still wonder why the world is not more interesting than this phone.
If I were able to choose an Android phone, I would always buy a Zenfone to the detriment of another brand. Why? Because the price is fair for what it offers.
