NFS and Battlefield: bad for Windows XP

Two important games, which will be launched this year by Electronic Arts will not be played on Windows XP.

NFS The Run and Battlefield 3 uses Frostbite graphics engine 2, which not only supports DirectX 10 and DirectX 11. In conclusion, the game will be used only by those who have installed operating systems Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

In Romania, Windows XP is still quite popular, primarily because it was reluctant to receive Windows Vista for consumers, and secondly because of weak sales of new computers in recent years, which is due to the economic crisis.

How Windows 7 was welcomed by the public, we asked that Windows XP still be on the market share in Romania. Therefore, we accessed wizoo.ro statistics, sales and we concluded that, in our calculations, Windows XP is still the most used operating system in Romania, with just over 50% of the market .

Windows 7 comes catching, but still ranks in February, with around 40% share, while Windows Vista is installed on about 5% -6% of the computers that accessed the three sites.

The logical question is whether NFS Run and Battlefield 3 will be successful on the PC or any power of influence on gamers in migration to the new Windows 7.

Although, in terms of graphics, both games are distinguished from previous editions, the chances for a possible cause of change seem to lean more towards NFS: The Run, Battlefield 3 anyway starting with the second chance in the shooter genre (the sales series in previous years), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare three seemingly favorite this year.

Being just a personal opinion, in Romania, I think games will attract users to the new Windows 7, but I expect this year’s sales of both games are well below those of last year, Windows XP still resisting in the war against Windows 7.
