USB C cables for iPhone 15 will have limitations for certain models

It is clear that we have USB on the iPhone 15, but what the world does not know is that Apple will limit the port for simple models. iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be limited to USB 2.0 speeds, but the iPhone 15 Pro and Max (or Ultra) models will have a USB Type C 3.2 Gen 2×2 port. The good news is that the new cables will be longer, from 1 meter as the Lightning models had to 1.6 meters.

MFi has also been abandoned, so there will be no limitations to cables from third-party manufacturers. So far so good. It’s just that iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have the port limited to USB 2.0 speeds, which means they will have 20W charging and lower transfer speeds. Instead, the iPhone 15 Pro and the Max or Ultra version will receive USB Type C 3.2 Gen 2×2, i.e. with double flow.

The cables, regardless of which iPhone you get, will support Power Delivery 3.0 up to 20V, 3A and 60W, so you can use them to charge other more powerful devices.
