Ford announces that it will ship certain models without chips

The news comes in the context in which the American manufacturer is in the top of the news in our country anyway, after yesterday it was announced that the plant in Craiova will be taken over by Ford Otosan from Turkey.

We have already discussed the semiconductor crisis on our website, so we will not resume the subject. I just don’t think anyone would expect a big manufacturer like Ford to end up selling models with missing chips.

Do not stress, it is not the safety systems that are affected, but some secondary ones. For example, climate control will be disabled for passengers. And, to be fair, FOrd has announced that it will later recall the units to install those subassemblies when the crisis allows.

Last year, BMW made a similar move, giving up touchscreen control.

It would be interesting for the prices to be adjusted downwards, but I would not have high hopes.
