SK Hynix starts production of DDR5 RAM
SK Hynix starts production of DDR5 RAM. This offers major advantages over the current DDR4 and will also include a common function in the professional field.
As shown in the attached photo, DDR5 memories start at 3200Mbps and reach up to 8400Mbps. It is a very big leap especially if we refer to the maximum value.
These will be available in capacities 4 times larger than DDR4, the minimum density of 8GB.
The function we talked about is ECC and we find it in the professional environment. ECC or Error Correcting Code, will be standard on DDR5 memories. The energy consumption is 20% lower and the voltage is 1.1v.
DDR5 memories come into production this year, but probably over 2-3 years we will see a standard. So you can quietly buy RAM at good prices.
