Which PlayStation 4 games will you be able to play on the PlayStation 5?

Sony has released an update on the backwards compatibility features of the upcoming PlayStation 5 console, to clarify Mark Cerny’s claims during the official console presentation.

Thus, those who were concerned about this may be reassured: Sony is making significant efforts to make the “overwhelming majority” of the more than 4,000 games available for PlayStation 4 run smoothly on the PlayStation 5 as well.

The company also expects these games to run on the PlayStation 5 in significantly better conditions than on the PS4, with more stable framerates and higher resolutions.

The games are individually evaluated to detect any problems and solve them in time for the launch of the new PlayStation 5.

Mark Cerny said that most of the 100 most played titles for PlayStation 4 already run smoothly on the PlayStation 5, Sony adding that they have already tested hundreds of PS4 titles and will continue to do so until the PS5.

The company will release updates regarding the backwards compatibility feature on the PlayStation 5, as well as other PS5-related updates in the coming months.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 owners will be able to play PS4 titles online, using the same existing PlayStation Network infrastructure.
