Lenovo ThinkPad Twist, a hybrid Windows 8 with 12.5 inch screen

Lenovo has long been a hybrid line between tablet and notebook in its portfolio, the latest member of the family is costly ThinkPad 230T, but the company decided to take advantage of the imminent launch of Windows 8 to revive this class with a more affordable model: ThinkPad Twist.

As already the announced Toshiba Satellite U920t and U925t, the new ThinkPad Ultrabook misses the specifications of a mustache, but offers a convertible design that intends to provide comfort in duality mode. Unlike the first models from Toshiba, Lenovo preferred a rotating screen.

ThinkPad Twist offers a screen diagonal of 12.5 “IPS panel with 350 nits brightness and 1366 x 768 pixels, the hardware platform is the latest iteration of Intel Core platform, Ivy Bridge.

Configurations can climb up to the Core i7, 8GB RAM, HDD storage capacity of 320 or 500GB or 128GB capacity SSD, two USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectors and video outputs Mini DisplayPort and Mini HDMI, optional and may be purchased and internal 3G module.

Rotary-screen display lets you use the hybrid in three ways, as usual laptop as tablet and the screen with stand. The weight of this model is 1.58 kg, 20 mm thick and the battery promises a range of 7 hours.

Lenovo ThinkPad Twist is expected this month, with the official launch of Windows 8. Configurations will prices start at 849 dollars.
