Olympus gives up the camera division
Olympus, the Japanese brand known for cameras and medical equipment, gives up the camera division and chooses to sell it to an investment fund.
The Japanese decided to give up the camera division and sell it to Japan Industrial Partners, an investment fund that also bought the Vaio division from Sony.
JIP mentions that it does not want to close this division and it is possible to still see the Olympus cameras, but they will no longer be made by the parent company and will probably be sold only in certain markets.
Olympus will continue to produce medical equipment and have great success in this field.
