Apple could launch a foldable iPhone in 2025 – The foldable Macbook could come sooner

Foldable phones have grown in popularity in recent years, but of the major phone manufacturers, only Samsung seems to be successful in this market segment.

Oppo, Huawei and Xiaomi have experimented with folding, but their models have gone into obscurity just months after launch. An important competitor on foldable phones could be Apple, but the company avoids taking too many risks and hardly aligns with market trends.

It was initially thought that the foldable iPhone was scheduled for launch in 2023, but information recently released by Display Chain Consultants (DSCC) seems to disprove this rumor. According to a report by Ross Young, Display Analyst at DSCC, the foldable iPhone is unlikely to arrive before 2025.

However, Apple is optimistic about the future of foldable smartphones, but believes that the technology is not yet ready to be integrated into phones.

Instead, Apple could come up with a foldable Macbook that allows you to extend the display to diagonals up to 20 ″ and 4K resolution.

The analyst has a very good reputation for the information provided, often accurately anticipating market trends, but until a confirmation, at least semi-official, we have no reason to be excited.

Many of the ideas and prototypes developed within tech companies are being abandoned, and the development and manufacture of phones and especially foldable notebooks is still in its infancy.
