How much money did the famous Ninja streamer receive to forget about Twitch and sign with Mixer

Competition in the gaming industry is not limited to the number of games sold or which company has sold more consoles, processors or video cards.

The pursuit of famous players, who broadcast their own gameplay sessions live, has become as popular as the actual playing of favorite titles.

Thus, we have witnessed the increase in popularity of streaming platforms, the Twitch of Amazon, starting in this race from the leading position.

Obviously, a giant like Microsoft could not overlook this area, launching Mixer, a worthy alternative to Amazon’s solution.

But the fierce struggle for this market is not always carried out by orthodox methods. As with two football teams, in direct competition, Mixer chose to make “transfers” from the Twitch camp, in an attempt to attract their fans.

And without a doubt, the most important such “blow” was the recruitment of Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, the most popular video game streamer in the world, attracted to the Mixer camp with an exclusive contract.

According to Justin Warden, CEO of Ader, a business company working with Blevins, the exclusive deal between him and Microsoft was initialed in exchange for an amount ranging from $ 20 to $ 30 million. In exchange for this payment, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins will exclusively transmit via Mixer several years from here. Asked about this contract by CNN Business, Microsoft directed journalists to the Loaded printing agency, which, in turn, refused to release the details of this deal.

Obviously, $ 30 million can be considered a large sum, but Microsoft is allowing such investments, in an attempt to draw as much attention to its own Mixer platform, despite some of its weaknesses.

For example, Mixer is not present on certain platforms, lacking the official applications for consoles like Nintendo Switch or Sony PlayStation 4, for smart TVs or media boxes equipped with Android TV operating system and for the very popular Apple TV.

Microsoft’s plan would also include turning a streamer like Ninja into a true ambassador of the Xbox gaming division. In the past, Blevins was a professional Halo player, and Microsoft could use it to promote the launch of the future Halo Infinite, expected on the market in conjunction with the new Xbox Series X console. 5, Ninja being the first to broadcast live, in the autumn of last year, sequences from the game’s single player campaign.

However, in the vast majority of the time since switching to the “camp” Mixer, Ninja focused on Fortnite, the game that made it the most popular streamer in the world. Moreover, Blevins also had a partnership with Epic Games (game makers), receiving its own custom skin for Fortnite.
