OSOM OV1 is the new product of the team behind Essential Phone

At launch, Andy Rubin’s company promised a lot. I even admit that I was tempted by an Essential PH-1, and the only reason I didn’t buy it was the lack of an official distributor in our country.

After it fell apart, Jason Keats, the CEO and founder of OSOM Products, took the team there for a new project. It has already been officially launched for the company, not for the product. Therefore, we do not know much about OV1. The only official specification was vague – it will have a Qualcomm chipset.

The model will focus on the confidentiality of user data, so it could be quickly adopted by certain state or interstate organizations. I haven’t had a manufacturer approved by national security agencies since Blackberry.

It seems that 2022 will be the moment when the Essential team will be able to have a new beginning.
