Nokia no longer produces flagship phones – it is limited to low cost and mid-range models

Nokia, a brand “for the elderly” as I hear it now called, has repositioned itself in the market. The company will only produce affordable phones, as long as it can exist in a Chinese-dominated market.

The old company that was wreaking havoc until 2007 is now a ruin. After many attempts with Windows Phone, after a declared bankruptcy and after a return to the market under the umbrella of HMD Global, Nokia tried to be a serious alternative in a Chinese-dominated market.

Did not make it. The price-quality balance was not in their favor. Problems with Android updates weren’t helpful in all this equation either, and the brand ended up losing credibility.

Plus, those who used Nokia phones in the 90’s and 2000’s are now old people (yes, we’re really old), and most young people haven’t even heard of this brand or considered it “for old people.”

Because success did not smile on the side of flagship phones (but not at all) they decided to give up this idea permanently and focus on affordable phones. That is, on that unpretentious segment where the user is not looking for performance.

Nokia is getting ready to go again. We probably won’t hear from this manufacturer in a few years….
