Samsung is limiting phones with a GOS app

The Samsung community in their home country, Korea, has discovered an application installed by Samsung itself that limits the phone’s performance.

GOS is the name of this application and limits the performance of over 10,000 applications. Here we can include popular applications such as Netflix, Instagram, TikTok, Microsoft Office and many more. There are also productivity applications where the need for performance is useful, and they are limited from this point of view.

Benchmark applications are not included, which means that if you run a test it will not tell you that your performance has dropped. An Android Authority member has had his phone limited and believes that this is to increase battery life.

Fortunately for the S22 series, it is not affected. Slightly older models such as S21 or earlier are affected.

The tech press is waiting for an official response from Samsung after this discovery.
