SsangYong could disappear from the market

SsangYong, the Korean brand that is often confused with a Chinese brand, is on the verge of disappearing permanently from the market. Unfortunately, they are good cars.

Mahinda, the Indian company that owns 73% of SsangYong, has announced that it is no longer investing in this brand and is giving up $ 380 million for development and $ 30 million for the brand’s survival during this COVID 19 pandemic.

Last year SsangYong sold 14,000 cars in Europe, the most popular being Tivoli, Korando and Rexton. This year they have a promotion with 5 years + 5 years additional warranty for the engine and box.

Personally I saw a Tivoli, the cars seem to be very ok, but I do not know the problems that may occur in time. Until a few years ago SsangYong used Mercedes Benz engines and transmissions.
