The Call of Duty franchise will take a break next year
The Call of Duty franchise has been released every year since 2005, but things could change next year.
Activision seems to be starting to doubt the quality of these annual releases, especially in the context of Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard having much lower sales than previous titles. Therefore, after the launch of Modern Warfare 2 this year, Call of Duty will not return until 2024.
According to Activision, Modern Warfare 2 will come with a new engine, completely redesigned game mechanics and a much better finished experience, with 11 studios already involved in the development. The game will also be available on both the latest and current platforms.
