Unreal Engine 5 was introduced

While 13 titles in development were unveiled for the Xbox Series X last week, Sony is showing off its Playstation 5 muscles with a tech demo on Unreal Engine 5.

Like most tech demos seen since Unreal Engine 3 so far, they have looked incredibly good, and UE 5 is no exception.

Among the technologies that Epic Games praises for the new graphics engine are Nanite and Lumen.

Lumen is responsible for quality dynamic lighting, and Nanite will help developers create more detailed objects in video games.

You can see the trailer below, and for those who want a deeper analysis, we have left a link to the video from Digital Foundry.

The engine should be available by the end of 2021 and will be compatible with Android, iOS, PC, both the current and future generation of consoles.
