Tenda AV1000 PA6 and P3 – a powerline kit with Wi-Fi
Powerline technology is no longer a miracle for anyone. In short, you have internet through the network of electrical cables in the house. I received the Tenda AV1000 PA6 and P3, two interesting modules that also contain Wi-Fi.
Tenda AV1000 PA6 is a module that plugs into the socket and offers 2 Gigabit LAN ports. Basically you can signal further through 2 different sources. What is interesting about PA6 is the Wi-Fi connection. It also acts as a range extender.
It connects to your wireless router via WSP and you can use it as a range extender. But he can do more than that. In addition to the range extender function, it can be connected to another PA6 adapter.
Moreover, it can transmit internet through the two LAN ports to other devices. Basically you have 3 different ways to contact him, which is more than enough. The interesting part is that it offers Gigabit speeds, a bonus you probably didn’t expect.
How good is it in practice? I say pretty good. The connections are stable and I had no problems with it while I tested it. It has a sufficient coverage radius for a 2-room apartment (it doesn’t beat more than that), and the speeds are really good. As much as it promises, it offers so much.
The only downside I see is the size, a little too big. You may not have room to plug it into all the sockets in the house, and nothing will fit next to it.
As for the P3, this is just a simple adapter that picks up the signal from the home’s electrical network. It is basically an extension in the other room of the PA6, but without Wi-Fi and with a single LAN port. You can insert it in a socket in the bedroom where you have no internet at all and enjoy Gigabit speeds.
It is much smaller, about 2 times smaller than PA6, but its role is only a secondary device not a main one.
If you plug PA6 into an outlet near the router, P3 is the device that receives the signal from PA6 but in another area of the house.
