Google has removed 190,000 malicious app developers from the Play Store
Malware is still a very serious issue on Android, but Google has started to take action and tighten the rules for developers.
Last year, the company disabled more than 190,000 malicious app developer accounts, and 1.2 million apps that violated the terms and conditions were removed from the Play Store.
At the same time, Google has implemented complex security mechanisms at the operating system level and has managed to reduce the leakage of confidential data through APIs by 98%.
The company has also introduced machine learning-based malware detection tools, and Pixel devices now come with an advanced security control center.
Unfortunately, the risk of installing malicious apps on Android is still very high, and filtering content on Google Play doesn’t seem to work very well for spyware or adware applications.
