Oppo – charge from 0 to 100% in just 9 minutes at 240W

It’s amazing where it got to with fast loading. Oppo shows in a video the fast charging SuperVOOC Flash Charge at 240W, where a phone reaches from 0 to 100% in just 9 minutes.

When fast charging first appeared and I used a Nexus made by Motorola with a 15W charging, I was amazed at how fast the phone charged. In less than an hour it was fully charged and in 30 minutes it already had 50%.

We are currently playing with 65W, Apple has 20W, Samsung is still there, and the Chinese are coming from behind with 240W. Xiaomi recently demonstrated their 200W charging technology.

SuperVOOC Flash Charge works at 24V, 10A and offers 240W via USB C, the power being sent on 3 different buses, each with 80W and charging different parts of the battery.

Oppo has also developed a dedicated voltage chip, it has 13 temperature sensors that take care that the battery stays cool and does not overheat.

In a few years, maybe 2, we will see this technology on a serial phone.
