Poco reaffirms its independence from Xiaomi

This time through the numbers: from the birth of the division until now, over 6 million Poco phones have been sold in over 35 countries around the world.

The Poco brand was born in 2018, with the first Xiaomi Pocophone F1 phone launched. At the time, Poco was not an independent brand, but a subdivision of Xiaomi.

But the Pocophone F1 was a huge success, which the price and specifications quickly brought to everyone’s attention globally: $ 300 for a phone with top internal specifications, but without gimmicks.

It was a real flagship killer, it had practically taken the place of OnePlus. It was distributed globally in a number of 2.2 million copies, and we were lucky enough to test one and receive our consent as well.

This year in January, Poco expressed his intention to become an independent brand and get out from under Xiaomi’s wing, and now that they have presented their figures, he reaffirms that this will be the direction the company will take.

Meanwhile, Pocophone F1 received two successors: Poco F2 and Poco F2 Pro, and the portfolio expanded with various entry-level phones, the most recent being Poco M3.

What would be interesting to see from Poco now is that as in the case of F1, to see original phones. The Pocophone F1 was an original phone, while the Poco F2 / F2 Pro was actually just a rebranded Xiaomi Redmi K30 / K30 Pro.
