Samsung officially gives up the Galaxy Note range
Samsung confirmed what we already knew: the Galaxy Note range no longer exists. The first phone in the series debuted at MWC 2011 and had a 5.3 diag diagonal screen.
At that time, no one understood why such a large display on a smartphone was needed, but in just a few years, Notebooks exploded in popularity, and now most phones have screens of at least 6 ″.
Although the Galaxy Note series was representative of the South Korean company and sold hundreds of millions of units worldwide, Samsung felt that it was better to integrate it into the Galaxy S range.
The reasons are not known, but an important reason could be the fierce competition in the smartphone industry. In addition, Samsung seems to be increasingly relying on foldables, and a simultaneous launch in the fall for Fold and Note would have hampered the development, production and especially marketing departments.
In any case, Note has not disappeared. It is now the Galaxy S series Ultra model and will almost certainly remain so in the years to come. The design is largely identical, and the S-Pen stylus and other Galaxy Note-specific features are now on Ultra.
