The new high-end OnePlus range was presented
OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro made their debut with Hasselblad cameras, Snapdragon 888 and 120hz screens.
If you’ve been on the subject with all the information leaked so far on the internet, you kind of know what to expect compared to the two phones. This time there are some interesting differences between them.
We will start with photo sensors because this aspect seems to be the one that OnePlus has emphasized in this generation, by collaborating with the Swedish camera manufacturer Hasselblad.
OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a main sensor produced by Sony, a 48MP IMX789. It is equipped with OIS, ISO Dual, digital overlay HDR (DOL-HDR) which should theoretically solve the problems of backlight pictures and OCL which should help focus, resolution and HDR.
The camera comes with Hasselbrad Pro mode for fans of editing and playing with pictures in 12 bit RAW format and can shoot up to 8k @ 30FPS, and 4K mode works at a maximum of 120FPS. For black and white pictures on the back there is a dedicated 2MP sensor.
The ultra-wide camera has a huge 50MP sensor with autofocus, which takes pictures at 12.5MP resolution. It is also produced by Sony, the IMX766 model. The telephoto camera is 8MP and allows optical zoom up to 3.3X. The front camera is 16MP.
The screen is 6.7inch LTPO at 1440p resolution and 120HZ refresh rate. Fluid Display 2.0 technology is on board and the refresh rate automatically adjusts depending on the content between 1HZ when the phone is used for reading or is on Always-on-display and up to 120HZ in gaming sessions.
The processor is of course Snapdragon 888, and comes in several variants: the basic one is with 8GB RAM / 128GB storage and the best equipped is with 12GB RAM / 256GB for storage. The internal memory is UFS 3.1, and the RAM is LPDDR5.
The battery has a capacity of 4500mAh, fast charging at 65W, where a complete cycle should last only 29 min. Wireless charging is at 50W and according to the OP it should fully charge the battery in 43 minutes.
OnePlus 9 also uses a Sony sensor, but a different model, an IMX689 and it lacks DOL-HDR and OIS. Shooting at 4K resolution is limited to 60 frames per second instead of 120 on the Pro. Compared to the Pro version, it also lost the telephoto sensor, the ultra-wide one and the black-and-white one being identical.
The screen is smaller, has 6.55inch and is AMOLED, but still runs at 120HZ and uses FullHD + resolution. It is equipped with Fluid Display 1.0 technology. The battery and internal specifications have remained the same as the Pro model, but it loses fast wireless charging and can be charged at 15W instead of 50W.
Both phones come with stereo speakers, and the prices are 719 euros for the OnePlus 9, respectively 909 euros for the Pro version.
