ASUS has launched STRIX SCAR 17 – a premium gaming laptop
ASUS today launched the new STRIX SCAR 17 gaming laptop. It is a 17-inch model equipped with the strongest components, has a modern design and is aimed at players looking for the best performance.
SCAR 17 has thin edges and an 81.5% screen-to-frame ratio. The screen measures 17.3 inches and also has a 300Hz refersh rate. It integrates 10th generation Intel processors and includes an i9-10980HK.
It has 32GB RAM, RTX 2080 SUPER, RAID 0 storage on NVMe SSD and still offers an additional slot for another M.2 SSD. The cooling offered is with liquid metal and new radiators, and the thermal efficiency is better than ever.
The improved cooling allows the ROG Boost function to bring the graphics accelerator speed up to 1560MHz at a consumption of 150W in Turbo mode exceeding the standard GeForce RTX 2080 configurations.
The 4 radiators we find inside, have a total of 284 blades that raise the total surface for the thermal dissipation to 178mm squares.
The housing also has an additional height of 1.4mm to accommodate the more robust cooling module.
STRIX SCAR 17 also comes with Keystone II, which allows users to link shortcuts and other functions to a physical key, activated by NFC, which connects to the side of the enclosure.
We find RGB Aura Sync lighting both on the outside and on the keyboard.
As a connection it offers 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A audio jack, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C with Display Port support, 1x LAN RJ45 and 1x HDMI 2.0b.
